St. Gregory's School Misson Statement

"Christ at the Centre of Living and Learning" - Gospel Values at work

St. Gregory's School Aims

To provide an environment in which all students will be able to develop morally, spiritually and socially.

To promote in each child the acquisition of skills, knowledge and personal responsibility.

To broaden our students' vision, understanding and experience of the world.

To provide a broadly-based framework of study as required by the National Curriculum.

To assist young people to make their own informed judgements.

Redevelopment of the school entrance is due for completion during the Autumn term. An arists impression is below.

St.Gregory's is a Catholic Comprehensive School, founded in 1966, which caters for children of all abilities. St.Gregory's is a "high value" school (based on examination results, OFSTED reports and Diocesan inspections).

The school is arranged into 5 Areas of Learning (AoL). Students are assigned to an Area of Learning and they will stay in this Area for all of their school career - developing a strong supportive relationship with their peers and the team of teachers in their Area. Family members will usually be put into the same Area of Learning but not necessarily the same Review Group. The Areas of Learning are led by an Assistant Headteacher, supported by a Pastoral Leader / Manager:

Information on the Cyber Café

St. Gregory’s is committed to a community project as part of the schools Specialist Status.  The project is held here at St Philip’s Community Centre in Sherwood, and is open every Wednesday from 9.00am until 11.30am during term time.

There are several facilities available for people to use at the Cyber Café. We provide Internet access, Emailing, Scanning, support with basic ICT skills and Digital Photography and also the opportunity to work towards achieving recognised ICT and Maths qualifications. The Café also sells coffee, tea and breakfasts during the morning.

We work in a friendly and caring atmosphere, and as a team we work closely together to make sure everyone’s needs are met. We are fortunate that our 6th form students are available to come and help us during the morning. We value the skills they have to offer and the students benefit greatly from working in an adult environment.

We welcome all ages and would like to encourage people to make use of the services we have to offer.

Digital Photography

We offer basic camera skills, trouble shooting, using computers to enhance and edit images and restoring old photographs. Step by Step tuition and worksheets, to support you every step of the way. Lessons structured to needs of the individuals within the group. No experience needed. Starts around 10am (ish)

Welcome to the Old Gregorians Homepage!

Old Gregorians Reunion
Many of you are, or certainly know, former students/staff of St Gregory's. The school is setting up an Old Gregorians Association in the build up to our 50th anniversary and have set a date for our first reunion

Saturday 25th June at 1.30pm in the 6th Form Centre

There will be a Pimms reception, old photographs on display and tours of the school for those of you who would like to see how it has changed over the years!
It would be a great opportunity to meet up with old friends.

At 3pm on the same day we have the school Summer Fair so you can wander out and see if there are any faces you recognise in the crowd there too.

We hope you can come and look forward to seeing you on the 25th June!

In the meantime we have started to load old photographs on to a Facebook account so that we can all enjoy them http://www.facebook.com/tn4.oldgregorians  Who knows - you may recognise a few faces! Please feel free to upload any pictures you may have and pass on the link to your old school friends.

Also, we would love you to get in touch with your ideas of how you would like us to celebrate our 50th anniversary and if you would like to be involved in any way.

Please contact Lynn Birchard (Clerk to the Governors) via E-Mail or phone 01892 527444 ext 137 if you would like to attend the reunion or if you are interested in the Old Gregorians.

Calling all ex-pupils of St Gregory's Catholic Comprehensive School
As we approach our 50th anniversary of the school it would be lovely to catch up with you all.
Do you have any old photographs you don't mind us copying or any tales to share? Where are you? What are you doing now? We would love to hear from you. We have 5 years left to plan our celebrations and want to find as many of you as possible to join us for our anniversary. Please contact Mr Nick Hunter or Mrs Janet Cooke (you may remember her as Miss Lithgow) at the school. Alternatively contact our Clerk, Mrs Lynn Birchard on ext 137 or E-Mail
