Redevelopment of the school entrance is due for completion during the Autumn term. An arists impression is below. St.Gregory's is a Catholic Comprehensive School, founded in 1966, which caters for children of all abilities. St.Gregory's is a "high value" school (based on examination results, OFSTED reports and Diocesan inspections). The school is arranged into 5 Areas of Learning (AoL). Students are assigned to an Area of Learning and they will stay in this Area for all of their school career - developing a strong supportive relationship with their peers and the team of teachers in their Area. Family members will usually be put into the same Area of Learning but not necessarily the same Review Group. The Areas of Learning are led by an Assistant Headteacher, supported by a Pastoral Leader / Manager:

We are fortunate that our 6th form students are available to come and help us during the morning. We value the skills they have to offer and the students benefit greatly from working in an adult environment. We welcome all ages and would like to encourage people to make use of the services we have to offer. In years 7-9 students are taught in mixed-ability groups for most subjects - called by a Saints name (Anna, Clare, Joan, Simon, Peter, Luke). At the end of each day, students have 25 minutes Review Time, with their Review Tutor, in mixed age "vertical" Review Groups. This is to encourage students to reflect on their personal learning in a family environment. On Monday mornings, Year 7 are taught all day by the same teacher in a cross curricular subject called ACE (Accelerated Competence Experience). The integrated curriculum focuses predominantly on process, enabling students to become independent, creative, effective and confident learners. Year 10 - 11
Students then have a choice of subjects, leading to GCSEs:
