Teacher Training Course in Conjunction with Hiberia College
Initial Teacher Training Course
St Gregory’s Catholic School is working with Hibernia College UK (HCUK) as part of its national network of teacher training schools. As part of this network we help to deliver HCUK’s initial teacher training course, elearnITT. Through this unique teacher training partnership St Gregory’s is able to recruit and train high-quality individuals who want to become teachers of maths, physics, chemistry or modern foreign languages.
Teaching Courses leading to PGCE and QTS
HCUK has worked with a number of high performing schools across England, including St Gregory’s to develop elearnITT, an online initial teacher training course for graduates who want to become qualified teachers of Maths, Physics, Chemistry, French, German or Spanish. It is the first Initial Teacher Training course to incorporate a full Subject Knowledge Enhancement programme and is specifically designed to offer an accessible route into teaching which leads to a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) as well as Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). For full details of HCUK’s initial teacher training programmes please click here.
Flexible Online and In-School Teaching Course
HCUK’s 18-24 month online teacher training course, elearnITT, offers a flexible path to becoming a teacher. It is a blended learning programme, delivered through a mix of high quality online learning, on-site days and 24 weeks of in-school teacher training.
The first half of this teacher training course is delivered almost completely online. This enables participants to fit learning in and around existing commitments. The second half of the teacher training course incorporates two full-time, in-school teaching experience placements. Each compulsory school placement is around 12 weeks long, and is organised by HCUK in partnership with St Gregory’s or a similar hub school.
