Everybody at our school is valued and we take very seriously our legal responsibilities to protect young people. All our students have a right to feel safe at school and we deal robustly with any issues about bullying, for example, or complaints about matters which affect the safety of young people.

There is yearly training for staff on Child Protection. All employees are screened by police checks, to ensure they are appropriate people to work in a school. Job adverts carry a reminder that all potential employees will be checked by the Criminal Records Bureau.

The Headteacher and Chair of the Governors’ Staff Committee have completed the online Safer Recruitment training.

Governors and senior staff drew up and presented to staff a Code of Conduct which is now in place.
