Staff Testimonials

Here’s what some of our staff have to say about working at St Gregory’s School

“I returned to St Gregory's in 2018 as Cover Supervisor and I am now working as Senior Pastoral and Safeguarding Manager. I started my St Gregory's journey as a student in 2000 and, after finishing my degree, I came back to work at the school. The choice turned out to be the best I could have made for myself and, with support of the school, I have now also completed my Masters Degree.

At St Gregory's, I have been supported to grow and develop both professionally and personally. I cannot wait to continue this journey around a fantastic group of kind and caring staff and students.”

Miss R Lavender
Senior Pastoral and Safeguarding Manager, DDSL

Duke of Edinburgh Award Manager

“Moving country is a big deal. Moving country during the midst of a global pandemic, to a town you've never visited, to accept a job in a school you've never been to, is an even bigger deal.
I joined the St Gregory's staff in 2021 having moved over from Ireland. Learning a new curriculum, a new education system and a new way of teaching was a lot, but I couldn't be more supported from the team in St Gregory's. My Head of Department is fantastic and can't do enough to help me out, and I have developed a solid group of friends in my colleagues. There isn't a single staff member you couldn't go and talk to about anything - all the way up to the Headteacher. Everyone is incredibly welcoming, supportive and the staff will do whatever they can to help!”

Teacher of RE

“I trained at St Gregory's and then stayed at St Gregory's. I have been privileged to be part of this wonderfully supportive and fun community. Working with both staff and students is rewarding and no day is the same!”

Our Values

Ambition Rooted firmly in Catholic teachings, we aim to nurture and guide our students to fulfil their God-given potential so they may achieve success.

Leadership We strive to be a community of servant leaders, where individuals gain a clear sense of self and purpose, knowing their values and using these to guide how they enrich the community in which they belong.

Integrity We teach our students to value honesty and have strong moral principles, using their discernment to govern their actions and take responsibility for their choices.

Vigour Inspired by the life of St Gregory, we empower our students to work with vigour, so they approach all activities and opportunities with effort, energy and enthusiasm.

Empathy We aim for our students to understand and value the feelings of others and for them to know they are loved and celebrated irrespective of their differences.
