Statement of Intent:
The LIBF Diploma in the Business department helps promote a wide-ranging sixth form curriculum. The qualifications reflect the demands of a truly modern and evolving business environment. The subject intent is to inspire students to do their best. It is the department’s intention that while teaching Business and Finance, the teaching staff provide a safe, respectful nurturing working environment where students enjoy learning about Business and Finance. Business and Finance develop the students’ independence and life skills. To provide valuable career advice for students while studying Business and Finance. Regularly monitor the progress of students with SEND, checking that students are happy with their learning and progress. All work is well planned and organised. The department is well run and the objectives of the department are clearly aligned with those of the school.
Purpose:
Define and assess achievement of the knowledge, skills and understanding that will be needed by students planning to progress to undergraduate study at a UK higher education establishment, particularly (although not only) in the same subject area, for example business management, business administration, accountancy and finance, human resource management, marketing, retail management, tourism management and international business. Set out a robust and internationally comparable post-16 academic course of study to develop that knowledge, skills and understanding Enable UK universities to accurately identify the level of attainment of students while providing a basis for school and college accountability measures at age 18. Also, to provide a benchmark of academic ability for employers.
