It is with great sadness that the school received the news that Mr Ted Balmer, former Head of Mathematics at school has passed away peacefully.

Ted taught here back in the 1960s when the school was originally opened on its current site. Back then there was just Mr Balmer and Mrs Bishop as the Maths Department and as you may know, Mrs Bishop is still teaching with us. She says that Ted has his own chair in the staffroom, located where the school office now is and there was hell to pay if someone else sat there!
