World Book Day 2022
On Thursday 3rd March, our students celebrated World Book Day.
For the first 5-10 minutes of morning lessons, period 1 – period 3, the teaching staff read a short story called 'The Signalman' by Charles Dickens. Then at 12.30pm students took part in DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) where they could read a book of their choice until the end of the lesson.
At lunchtime in the library, students took part in Quizzicle, a book quiz set for students to work in teams of five, with prizes for the winners.
Finally students took part in a competition called 'Guess The Bookworm', which involved looking at a poster made up of staff photographs reading their favourite/current book, covering part of the face or in disguise, enough for students to make a guess but not too much that it was obvious. Prizes were given out to the winning students.
Our year 7's particularly enjoyed this day and made a VLOG to record the memory.
